McKinstry E-News December 2020
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” (Luke 2:10, NIV)

There’s something coming … something joyful!
The angel announced to the shepherds in the fields that the Messiah had been born in Bethlehem. This Savior will be a source of great joy. Can you imagine it? A spark of hope had now appeared and one day it would become a raging fire that would bring warmth, life, and light to all. The announcement was a promise that ignited a movement of hope. Great joy, true joy, was on the way!
It’s so small. If you’re not careful, you may miss it.
How could a baby be a source of hope? Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” The world was crying out for a Savior and God sent His Son who entered the world as a baby … how could this be? God’s great promise of hope came in a small, insignificant form, but this is God’s way.
By faith, we see thousands being given a glimpse of this joy.
God is up to something big in Malaga, Spain. He is at work amongst hundreds of thousands of people who are longing and looking for hope. A life of freedom, meaning, family, and joy is soon to be shared on the streets and in the homes of this beautiful city. A life-giving, Christ-centered, outward focused, community of faith is being birthed. It’s so small. It seems so insignificant. How could something so miniscule hold so much potential? This is God’s way.
Do you see it too?
It seems almost ridiculous that a handful of believers, called by the Spirit of God from various places around the world, would leave their lives and converge on this city with the goal of simply reflecting Jesus. It doesn’t seem possible that God would choose to call hundreds of individuals and churches to stand with this Church planting team in prayer, giving, and encouragement … but that is exactly what is happening!
Thank you for believing with us. We have watched God do the impossible in Barcelona and now we are believing that God will do even more as we work towards the future International Church plant in Malaga, Spain.
Look what God has done in the last six months of partnership development:
$1250 of new monthly support committed
$25,000 of personal work cash raised
$70,000 of church plant funds given
We serve the God of the impossible. Because we believe, we continue sharing our vision with pastors, churches, and individuals asking them to join us through giving and praying in this effort. We are meeting with our church plant team members, praying over the city of Malaga, and planning next steps as we move closer to our time of arrival back to Spain.
Our current financial need:
$1400 in new monthly support
$10,000 in personal work cash
$65,000 in church start-up funds
Would you dare to believe with us? At this very moment, would you pray for us, for the team, and for the city? Would you pray for new partners, for church start up funds, and for others to come along with us? Once these needs are met, we will be released for return to Spain and launch the International Church of Malaga.
We are praying for each of you who are reading this.
We Need Your Prayers … Here’s How:
1. For Jesus to be lifted high in Malaga, Spain. For existing churches to be encouraged, new churches to be started, and for a movement of people to follow Christ.
2. For the new International Church plant in Malaga (ICM). For people we have connected with in Malaga, for God’s timing, and for the necessary resources to start the church.
3. For God to call people to come be a part of the ICM plant team. Please pray for two families and their children who have joined our team and several individuals, families, and couples who are seeking God’s direction for their involvement. If you are interested or you know some one who may be interested in being a part of the team please contact us at our email: Mark@McKinstrysInSpain.org We are looking for those who desire to work with children, teens, evangelism, music, and media.
4. For the churches where we will minister in the US. Please pray for safe travels, encouragement for pastors and churches, Christ to be lifted high, and many to be touched and strengthened in their faith.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16).
