“In his name the nations will put their hope.” (Matthew 12:21, NIV)
What is an international church?
When we share God’s call on our lives to plant an International Church in Malaga, Spain, so many follow up by asking this question. Historically, an international church meets four basic criteria: 1) primarily English-speaking, 2) ethnically diverse, 3) evangelical/,multi-denominational, and 4) strong community. In recent decades, international churches have begun operating in multiple languages, with ethnically diverse leadership, and with a focus on local outreach and church planting. The International Church of Malaga will be a multi-lingual, multi-ethnic, multiplying church committed to being a life-giving community of faith in Malaga, the Costa del Sol, and to the world.
The International Church of Malaga exists to…
bring people from all nations
into a vibrant and transformative relationship with Jesus and grow together in our faith
to impact Malaga and the world for Christ.
We are so CLOSE to our partnership goals!
The Scriptures are clear. Mission workers cannot go unless they are sent. Thank you for being a part of sending us! Your faithful giving, praying, and encouragement mean the world to us. Your sacrifices will make an incredible difference in Malaga. Thank you for saying “Yes” to God and stepping into this work with us to introduce many in Malaga to Jesus.
Our current partnership needs
$850 in new monthly support
$20,000 for streaming equipment for the church
$35,000 for sound and video equipment for the church
Would you dare to believe with us that these needs would be met? At this very moment, would you pray for us, for the team, and for the city? Pray for favor as we travel and share in churches and with individuals all over the nation.
Once these needs are met, we will be released for return to Spain and officially launch the International Church of Malaga. Your monthly pledge will make it possible for many in this city to witness the gospel for the very first time.
According to a recent demographic study in Spain, from 2017-2019, Malaga has attracted the third most international businesses, just behind Barcelona and Madrid. This growing city numbers 600,000+ people with a greater metro area population of 1.2 million. There are just a handful of Christian churches; an injustice that we believe must be rectified. Everyone, everywhere deserves an opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please join with us in praying for Malaga and for the wonderful people who live there.
We Need Your Prayers … Here’s How:
1. For Jesus to be lifted high in Malaga, Spain. For existing churches to be encouraged, new churches to be started, and for a movement of people to follow Christ. Pray for a new Spanish church just starting in September in the city.
2. For the new International Church plant in Malaga. For people we have connected with in Malaga, for God’s timing, and for the necessary resources to start the church.
3. For God to call people to come be a part of the ICM plant team. Please pray for the three families including six children (and one on the way) who have joined our team and several individuals, families, and couples who are seeking God’s direction for their involvement. If you are interested or you know some one who may be interested in being a part of the team please contact us at our email: Mark@McKinstrysInSpain.org
4. For the churches where we will minister in the US. Please pray for safe travels, encouragement for pastors and churches, Christ to be lifted high, and many to be touched and strengthened in their faith.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16).
